The Pin Oak is a fast growing deciduous tree with shiny, deeply lobed dark green leaves.
In autumn the foliage of the Pin Oak turns red and then bronze.
This fast growing and pollution tolerant Oak has a distinctive pyramidal shape. Its lower branches tend to droop down, middle branches are horizontal and upper branches pointing upwards.
A characteristic of the Pin Oak is the retention of leaves through the winter on juvenile trees, a natural phenomenon referred to as marcescence.
